LUISKERCH

O B R A S

Luis Kerch

Is an artist with a Masters Degree in Communication Design from the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York, USA and a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Miami, Florida. USA.

AN OBSERVER COMMITTED TO ART AND NATURE. HIS WORK REPRESENTS THE EXPERIENCE OF PERCEIVING THE WORLD AND THE LIGHT THAT SURROUNDS US THROUGH THE USE OF COLOUR.

Since the work carried in 2011 in Kent, UK, his artwork has had an impact on the national and international art scene. On three occasions, he was selected and short-listed for Britain's "Threadneedle Prize for Painting & Sculpture," organised by the Federation of British Artists and London's Saatchi Gallery.

Throughout the last 15 years, he has collaborated with Mexican galleries such as that of Alfredo Ginocchio and Intersección Arte Contemporáneo in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, and art fairs in the USA, Europe and other Latin American countries, as well as participating in individual and collective exhibitions hosted by galleries and institutions in Europe and America; Mall Galleries, London, UK. TEA, Contemporary Art Centre, Tenerife.

Kunsthaus Miami Contemporary Art Space, Miami. Sotavento Gallery, Caracas, Venezuela. Contex, Art Miami. BARCU International Art and Culture Fair, Colombia. According to the Galician art critic, David Barro: "In the works of Luis Kerch, the landscape blurs away and the image is destroyed to trigger the imagination. All things pictorial are led to their absolute boundary. That is why there is always something beyond what we can see, and experience is overtaken by vertigo. A reality that we neither see nor can describe, but the existence of which we are able to deduce."

Kerch currently divides his time working in Spain and Mexico. He plans to return to the English countryside to continue with his artworks and present them in the Caxton Contemporary Gallery, Whitstable, Kent, UK.

TEJIENDO LA LUZ

@osoparadoart

WEAVING LIGHT

@osoparadoart

For me, Luis Kerch's paintings are not mere representations of external landscapes, but direct expressions of the artist's internal emotional state. Each brushstroke is a profound meditation. Luis seems like a philosopher of light, where light itself presents and represents itself in his paintings as the queen of all colors.

The canvases act as containers that narrate his biography, woven with meditative veils of the landscape. His abstractions appear to be attempts to elevate reality to a numinous world, seeking to give language to the ineffable landscape. His works are an extension of his emotions, travels, and perception lenses of this reality.

Luis shows us how he sees the world, poetically and sublimely in love with light. It's as if he inhabits his paintings with genius mastery, leading us to question reality itself, creating a sonata to light.
